Apple Habanero Hot Sauce
This apple habanero hot sauce add a nice sweetness and apple undertones to the hot habanero pepper flavor. It is a great way to spice up chicken or pork chops. It can also be added to apple sauce to give it a nice kick up in flavor.

Apple Habanero Hot Sauce Ingredients
2 cloves garlic, diced
1 shallot, diced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, diced
4 sweet apples, chopped
1 cup of apple cider vinegar
2/3 cup white sugar
2/3 cup brown sugar
10 habanero peppers, roughly chopped
2 teaspoons salt
6 tablespoons lemon juice
Apple Habanero Hot Sauce Directions
Over high heat cook the garlic, shallots, ginger in hot oil until soft, about 5 minutes.
Add the apples and cook for another 5 minutes.
Add the vinegar and bring to a boil. Then stir in the white and brown sugar and stir to dissolve.
Add the habanero peppers and salt and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add the lemon juice to the mixture and transfer the habanero apple mixture to a blender.
Apple Habanero Hot Sauce Storage
Put the pureed habanero apple hot sauce into cans and let sit for around a week so the flavors can meld.
You can can the apple habanero hot sauce for up to a year if you use proper canning techniques.
You can refrigerate the apple habanero pepper sauce for about a month if it is kept in a sealed container.
Freezing the apple habanero hot sauce allows you store it for a longer time, up to a year, but the flavor will begin to mellow after time and the apple flavor will not be as pronounced.
